Who we Are?

Triangular Communities Uganda (TCU) is a Child and women focused, Rights based Organization fully identifying children and girl-child empowerment by impacting communities to create a holistic environment for children, especially the girl-child, thus working towards improving their quality of life and wellbeing, with offices located in Bukoyo village, Bulamagi Sub County, Iganga District about 1kilometre from Iganga town.

It was founded by Richard Okello and Atai Catherine in 2021. It began as a small outreach ministry in by providing life skills training and counseling services to the youth, orphans and vulnerable children in the neighboring nearby schools in Iganga.

Due to the increasing number of orphan children in Uganda who lost one or both parents to accidents, corona virus, HIV/AIDS and other diseases, a majority of these children either drop out of school or miss education and some become homeless due to domestic violence relatives families.

It’s from this background that Richard and Catherine started Triangular communities Uganda in order to improve lives and empower the upcoming generations.

TCU was officially registered in 2022 as a Non- governmental organization ( NGO) with Reg No. INDR16205258NB and Permit No. INDP0005258NB

The organization has extended its work by empowering children and women through skills training on relevant skills like in farming, environmental conservation, tailoring, liquid and soap making, art and crafts, making of reusable sanitary pads, among others.

TCU has established a skilling center in Iganga which is currently training about 250 beneficiaries which includes teenage mothers, homeless children, widows and the youth.

Our most recent project is to construct a day care and health facilities for monitoring the well-being of the infants of the teenage mothers during the skilling sessions and this is expected to accommodate about 150 children.
